Hi angelfansan. My advice would be to only use Motorcraft Mercon LV or an alternative brand/fluid that specifically states it meets ("and/or exceeds") the Motorcraft Mercon LV specs. If the fluid you are looking at does not specifically state it meets all the proper specifications for Motorcraft Mercon LV, then I would recommend you do not use it.
Today my YM2 arrived. Only 10 days from purchase to arrival from uk to NYC. Reg is the man. Answered all my questions promptly plus the item was superbly. With the huge sea change (pun intended) to 904L in the sub and other models I'd love to believe it will trickle down. To the YMII. Test the countdown chronograph function to see if it works right (make sure you know it works). That is where I would start. Does the watch also come with any documentation (warranty card, instruction manual, tags, bill of sale, etc.)?
Lots of details wrong with this one, but not going to go into all of them because of forum rules. It's fairly obvious that this watch is not built to Rolex' standards. Open it up and see if the balance and hairspring match what Rolex uses. If you think it looks legit, then have someone knowledgeable about Rolex look at it in person and then give you the final answer. If the innards look non-legit then it is .
